My friend, Phil, served in the Navy and was invited to a reunion
for the shipmates of the USS Dace in Groton, Connecticut. I was honored that
he asked me to attend and help with the drive. I met his friends from the Navy days, and
they made me feel at home as I enjoyed listening to their stories. One of the highlights was
a tour of the Submarine Base in Groton. I also enjoyed visiting the beautiful seaports of
Mystic and New London, as well as Phil's former home in the charming town of Baltic.
I will remember this event as one of my best travel experiences.
